Indian Certificate of Secondary Education

The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education is a private board conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination(CISCE). The board is a non government board designed to provide an examination in the course of general education, according to the new education policy 1986. It is considered to be one of the popular Boards of education in India who conducts the ICSE class 10 and ISC class 12 examination. The ICSE board is known for its comprehensive syllabus and its primary focus is on the English language. The board offers a variety of subjects which involve language, arts, commerce and science. The language in which students are taught is strictly English which helps students gain great command over the language.

Class 10th Exam Pattern:

ICSE 10th Exam Pattern 2024-25 has been released by the board on the official website. The board had also done some changes in the pattern and syllabus of ICSE class 10 subject. The subjects are divided into 3 Groups: 1, 2, 3. From Group 1, students will have to take 4 compulsory subjects and the weightage of theory and practical exams or internal assessment in this group will be 80 and 20 marks respectively. From Group 2 of subjects, students can opt for 2 optional subjects and the weightage of marks will remain the same as of Group 1. From the 3rd group, students can opt for 1 optional subject where the weightage of theory and practical exams will be 50-50. ICSE 10th exam will consist of different types of questions such as Multiple choice, and long/ short answer questions. The exam duration will be 2 hours. 

Class 12th Exam Pattern:

Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) released the ISC Exam Pattern for Class 12th. All students must Go through the exam pattern to prepare for their board exams. The exam pattern comprises types of questions and other details on the syllabus of the exam. Students can not appear for more than six subjects including English as a Compulsory subject. Elective Subjects include history, accountancy, Business studies, Math, physics, chemistry and biology. All students must have 40% in each subject. The marks include both theory part and the practical exam. The theory paper will have a weightage of 80 marks and practical exam will have a weightage of 20 marks. The theory paper is divided into two parts , part 1 which has a weightage of 20 marks and part 2 which has a weightage of 60 marks. The duration of the exam is three Hours.
